“Things we don’t talk about” is a theatre project that using intimate and emotional stories is aiming to tackle societal issues that are silenced and avoided.
The text of the performance is based on actors personal monologues, anonymous stories that were gathered from an online questionnaire, as well as documentary material from the media. The performance focuses on the deep-rooted patriarchal structure that has been shaping our society for centuries, the religious influence, sexual abuse, discrimination and the psychological issues that the individuals are facing on regular basis.
In a tragicomic manner the team is criticizing the Balkans patriarchal milieu, and at the same time provokes a discussion for the necessity of social change.
