Meet Gazorpazorp, one of the most gifted new rock bands from Belgrade if not the Balkans!
A fresh name on the Serbian new wave scene, which is gradually taking the baton from the older generation of regional guitar bands, this mischievous bunch of youngsters is as authentic as it gets. In April 2018, the band released the demo ‘EP #1’. Their debut album ‘Od vazduha i sunca’ is coming out on 4th December 2020 on Moonlee Records.
Besides apparent influences from bands like Repetitor and Metz, their sound is a blend of noise rock forcefulness, math rock intricacy, post-punk playfulness and psychedelic rock experimentalism both in the Yugoslav and Anglo-Saxon traditions. With its modernized rock aesthetic, Gazorpazorp is a band easily comparable to cutting-edge contemporaries like Squid, Black Midi, Oh Sees, Show Me The Body and Tropical Fuck Storm.
“In less than a minute you can notice that St. Pseta are furious and unrestrained, they play as if nothing existed before them, and once you hear those songs, it is no longer a problem if all the music from the future disappears.” – Helly Cherry
